Raised in a strict Southern Baptist household in Florida, Cain draws heavily on her religious upbringing and Southern Gothic aesthetics to craft her narratives. Emerging in the early 2020s, she gained acclaim for her debut album, Preacher’s Daughter (2022), a concept album exploring intergenerational trauma and the complexities of womanhood in America.
